How Aria works with Open Dental
Open Dental is Aria's flagship integration. Two-way sync went live in production in April 2026 with our first OD-integrated client (Wiz Kids Dental & Orthodontics, CA).
Two-way appointment sync
Aria reads operatory schedules, books into the right operatory and provider, mirrors cancels and reschedules. The PMS is the source of truth — Aria never creates orphan calendar entries.
Patient profile read + write
On every inbound call, Aria looks up the caller in OD by phone-hash. Returning patients get personalized greetings; new patients are created in OD before booking.
Insurance verification
Stedi 270/271 eligibility runs in real time and writes coverage data back to the patient's OD insurance record.
Recall sync
Overdue recall lists pulled from OD and pushed into Aria's outreach queue. Re-bookings flow back automatically.
Treatment-plan-aware payments
Aria pulls outstanding treatment plans from OD when collecting payment for upcoming visits.
Procedure code mapping
Aria's appointment types map to OD's `isHygiene` flag and `procCode` (D1110, D0150, etc.) so reporting stays clean.
